About email & cloud collections.

Do you need the account password to collect?
Not necessarily. For company-controlled accounts (M365, Google Workspace, Slack, Teams), collection is typically done through admin-level access without involving the employee's password. For personal accounts, the account holder's cooperation or a court order is generally required. We'll advise on the right approach during the scoping call.
Can you collect from a personal Gmail used for business?
Yes, with the account holder's cooperation or appropriate legal process. Personal accounts require the owner's consent or a court-ordered subpoena. Once access is granted, the collection process and methodology are the same.
What if the employee's account has already been deleted?
M365 and Google Workspace typically retain deleted account data for 30–180 days depending on configuration. Acting quickly is essential — contact us before the retention window closes. We'll tell you exactly what's recoverable based on your platform's settings.
Can you apply date filters or keyword searches before collecting?
Yes. We can scope collections by date range, custodian, or keyword to limit volume and cost — while still preserving all metadata for every message collected. This is discussed and agreed upon during scoping so you know exactly what will and won't be captured.
