Before you call, the basics.

What is FRE 902(14) and why does it matter?
Federal Rule of Evidence 902(14) lets electronic evidence be self-authenticated through a written certification from a qualified examiner — no live foundational witness required at trial. A signed declaration is available as an add-on on any collection, so the evidence can be trial-ready the day you receive it.
Are there ever extra costs beyond the fixed price?
No. The flat fee is what you pay. The only addition is travel expenses for on-site collections outside the greater Salt Lake area — billed at cost with receipts and quoted upfront before any travel is booked.
Do you require a retainer?
Yes — 50% before collection begins, with the remaining 50% due on delivery of the data and reports.
Are collections done remote or on-site?
Both are options. Phones and computers can be collected by shipping a kit and walking the custodian through it on a video call, or on-site for the lightest custodian lift. Email, cloud storage, and chat accounts are fully remote with no hardware shipped.
Who actually does the collection — you, or a junior tech?
Me. Every collection is performed by a senior examiner with EnCE, MCFE, CCME, and an MS in Digital Forensic Science — the same person who would sign a FRE 902(14) declaration if you add one, and who would testify if needed.
